Cleanliness and Corona Virus

We’ve heard the saying cleanliness is next to godliness but it’s also directly akin to keeping healthy. Many are wondering what they can do to keep themselves and their loved ones safe now that we are going on year two, round three of the Corona Virus. There’s a lot of information (and even misinformation) circulating around—so we’ve compiled some practical actions you can take to help reduce the fear.

Clean and disinfect your home
One of the best ways to prevent the spread of disease is with a clean home. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in household common areas such as tables, doorknobs, light switches, remotes, handles, desks, toilets, and sinks. We suggest using Melaleuca’s EcoSense - Sol-U-Guard to clean, disinfect, and freshen your home. Sol-U-Guard is EPA approved and unlike other disinfectants that are made from harsh chemicals, Sol-U-Guard's main ingredients are plant-based - citric acid—yes similar to what is found in oranges and lemons—and thyme oil.

Difference between cleaning and disinfecting
These are two separate methods that need to be addressed. If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using soap and water prior to disinfection. To disinfect, use a cleaner containing at least 70% alcohol or one infused with high therapeutic grade essential oils (eucalyptus, thyme, cinnamon lavender, tea tree are all antivirals). Spray surface with disinfectant and let stand for at least 3 minutes before wiping or scrubbing. (Some disinfectants suggest up to 10 minutes.)

Wash your hands
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
